Job Description:

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Job Responsibility:

Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts to identify and define necessary system enhancements
Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues and recommend programming solutions
Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues
Conduct testing and debugging
Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions
Operate with limited level of direct supervision
Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy
Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members
Assess risk when business decisions are made
Design and implement cutting-edge ETL solutions on Unix/Linux platforms
Take ownership of the Ab Initio environment including installation, upgrades, and comprehensive management
Ensure integrity and stability of EME through administration, code migration strategies, and environment checkouts
Automate routine tasks using scripting skills
Manage and optimize various Unix file systems
Architect and maintain highly available and clustered Ab Initio systems
Continuously seek and implement opportunities for automation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Requirements:

5-9 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts
Basic knowledge of other technical areas
Fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications

Nice to have:

Experience in Financial Service industry
Expertise in Ab Initio area
Cloud ETL solutions experience
Unix/Linux platform experience
Shell/Unix scripting skills
Experience with Co>Operating System, GDE, EME
MFS/Serial files and data partitioning knowledge
Control Center, Query IT, and AG web applications experience
