Job Description:

This role is responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems in coordination with the Technology team. It also involves hands-on development of full-stack code, mentoring the team, setting coding standards, and ensuring adherence to best practices for delivering scalable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions.

Job Responsibility:

Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results
utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues
ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals
provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources
influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
drive code reviews, debugging, testing, and performance optimization for all software layers
engineer enterprise solutions within an Agile software delivery team, working to collaboratively deliver sprint goals, write code, and participate in the broader Citi technical community and team-level Agile and Scrum processes

Requirements:

10+ years of relevant experience
experience in applications development
experience in management
experience managing global technology teams
working knowledge of industry practices and standards
consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
10+ years of recent experience with design and development of enterprise scalable applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Framework and related technologies
strong experience in front-end/UI development using frameworks like Angular (preferably Angular 8+) and React
excellent hands-on experience in microservices architecture, including service discovery, API gateways, and inter-service communication
proficiency in UI/UX best practices and building highly interactive web applications
knowledge of reactive programming for building asynchronous, event/message-driven systems in microservices based applications that are highly concurrent
familiarity with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and distributed messaging systems (e.g., Kafka)
exposure to and experience in development with GenAI tools and products
ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirement
excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to prepare and deliver effective presentation

Nice to have:

Master’s degree preferred
knowledge of reactive programming for building asynchronous, event/message-driven systems in microservices based applications
familiarity with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and distributed messaging systems (e.g., Kafka)
exposure to and experience in development with GenAI tools and products
