Application Systems Analyst

• Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems
• Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written
• Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary
• Provides detailed support for definition/refinement of business requirements and for quality assurance/acceptance testing efforts
• Designs, develops, tests and debugs software components of moderate complexity
• Provides implementation, production and upgrade support for software components of moderate complexity
• Acts as supporting liaison between the application team and the user community
• Facilitates communications, coordinates system enhancements, and provides production support
• Works with user community to define business requirements
• Develops internal IT, user and Operations documentation
• Design, develop and maintain PL/SQL stored procedures, functions and packages for HIPAA 278 authorization data
• Analyze and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
• Create and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, validation and performance tuning
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, EDI specialists, and other technical teams
• Perform unit testing, participate in peer code reviews, and support QA and UAT efforts
• Provide production support for PL/SQL solutions
• Maintain technical documentation
• Stay informed on HIPAA standards and improve solution design
• Participate in Agile or Waterfall lifecycles.

• Bachelor s degree in related technical/business area plus 2 years of IT or business experience
• Experience with PL/SQL Development – with Oracle PL/SQL including stored procedures, functions, triggers, cursors and exception handling
• SQL Performance Tuning – Ability to optimize complex queries for large datasets and high-volume transactional systems
• Version Control – Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket or other source control systems for managing codebase changes.
