Job Description:

The Application Support Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role responsible for maintaining production applications, resolving technical and business-related issues, and supporting operational needs. This role includes ensuring tools and applications meet service level agreements, as well as evaluating risks and enhancing processes for operational stability and quality.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides technical and business support for users of Citi Applications
  • maintains application systems in daily operations
  • manages and supports applications focusing on stability, quality, and functionality
  • performs start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring, and risk reconciliations
  • develops and maintains technical support documentation
  • identifies risk and impact of production issues and escalates appropriately
  • ensures storage and archiving procedures are functional
  • defines scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution
  • coordinates with development and production support areas to prioritize tools requirements
  • participates in application releases from development to deployment
  • performs post implementation analysis
  • communicates risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues
  • acts as advisor or coach to new analysts
  • owns support project items including stability, efficiency, and effectiveness initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years experience in an Application Support role
  • experience installing, configuring or supporting business applications
  • experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn
  • advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization
  • effective written and verbal communications including ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-IT staff can understand
  • demonstrated analytical skills
  • issue tracking and reporting using tools
  • knowledge/experience of problem Management Tools
  • good all-round technical skills
  • effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams
  • ability to plan and organize workload
  • consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholder
  • minimum 4-5 years’ hands-on experience in UNIX/Linux, advanced scripting, debugging, SQL/Oracle/Sybase, and data analytics
  • working knowledge of Cloudera distribution components like HDFS, Hive, Impala, and Spark
  • understanding of scheduler/monitoring tools like Autosys or Control-M is advantageous
  • familiarity with shell scripting, PowerShell, Python, and Java is preferred
  • experience with database platforms like Sybase/Oracle/MSSQL.

Nice to have:

  • PowerShell, UNIX shell scripting, Python, Java
  • knowledge of scheduler/monitoring tools like Autosys or Control-M
  • familiarity with Hadoop big data components including YARN, Sentry, and Oozie
  • database experience with Sybase/Oracle/MSSQL
  • programming skills in C, C++, C#, or .Net.
