The Application Support Lead Analyst is a seasoned professional role focused on providing technical and business support for Citi Applications while ensuring operational stability, quality, and functionality.
Job Responsibility:
Provides technical and business support for users of Citi Applications
maintains application systems running in daily operations
manages and supports applications and their operating environments
performs start of day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover
develops and maintains technical support documentation
assesses risk and impact of production issues
ensures storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
formulates and defines scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution
reviews and develops application contingency planning
partners with development and production support areas for bug fixes and tooling requirements
participates in application releases from development, testing, and deployment
engages in post-implementation analysis
assesses risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues in the current environment
acts as a liaison between users, internal technology groups, and vendors
raises problems while adhering to Service Level Agreements
acts as advisor or coach to lower-level analysts
directly impacts team performance
participates in support project items and initiatives for stability, efficiency, and effectiveness
operates with limited supervision
acts as subject matter expert.
Requirements:
5-8 years’ experience in an Application Support role
experience installing, configuring or supporting business applications
experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn
advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization
effective written and verbal communications including ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-IT staff can understand
demonstrated analytical skills
issue tracking and reporting using tools
knowledge/ experience of problem Management Tools
good all-round technical skills
effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams
ability to plan and organize workload
consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholder
minimum 4-5 years’ hands-on experience in UNIX/Linux/Windows, advanced scripting, automation, debugging, OS administration certifications preferred, SQL/ORACLE/SYBASE database skills, scheduler/monitoring tools, programming languages like PowerShell, UNIX shell scripting, Python, Java
working knowledge of Hadoop/Big Data technologies under Cloudera distribution like HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, YARN, Sentry, Oozie, Kafka
ability to analyze bottlenecks on the cluster and performance tuning
database focus on Sybase, Oracle, MSSQL
knowledge of schedulers like Autosys, Control-M or monitoring tools like ITRS Active Console
strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under stress and time constraints.
Nice to have:
OS administration certifications preferred
programming languages such as SHELL SCRIPTING, Perl scripting, C or C++ familiarization, C#, .Net, Java, HTML5 familiarization
experience with Hadoop/Big Data technologies like Spark, YARN, Kafka
