Job Description:

Embark on a transformative journey as an Application Support Engineer – FICC RTB BA4. At Barclays, our vision is clear –to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. In this role, the team works with FICC Risk & Pricing (R&P) it is a core function within Global Markets technology that focuses on managing risk and pricing for Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities products. You and the team will ensure accurate end-of-day (EOD) risk calculations, pricing consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will support critical processes such as valuation, risk aggregation, and reporting, enabling traders and risk managers to make informed decisions. You will leverage advanced analytics and robust systems, FICC R&P plays a key role in safeguarding financial integrity and optimizing market operations. You'll be working on complex technical problems that will involve detailed analytical skills and analysis.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provision of technical support for the service management function to resolve more complex issues for a specific client of group of clients
  • Execution of preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software and utilisation of monitoring tools/metrics to identify, prevent and address potential issues
  • Maintenance of a knowledge base containing detailed documentation of resolved cases
  • Analysis of system logs, error messages and user reports to identify the root causes of hardware, software and network issues
  • Automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity management, front office specific support and stakeholder management
  • Identification and remediation or raising, through appropriate process, of potential service impacting risks and issues
  • Proactively assess support activities implementing automations where appropriate to maintain stability and drive efficiency

Requirements:

  • Production application support roles, thriving in high-pressure environments
  • UNIX, Windows, and database platforms
  • Oracle PL/SQL, Autosys, and scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Perl
  • FICC technology production support for applications that are part of the investment banking trade lifecycle
  • Excellent Oral and written communication skills

  • Analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
  • Advanced scripting in Python, Shell, or Perl
