Join us as an Application Support Analyst, to support our UK Branch Accounting applications and help maintain stability across wide‑ranging, business‑critical services. This is a senior hands‑on role where you will take responsibility for high‑impact incidents, conduct advanced technical assessments, and contribute to the reliability and resilience of key production systems.
Job Responsibility:
Provision of technical support for the service management function to resolve more complex issues for a specific client of group of clients
Execution of preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software and utilisation of monitoring tools/metrics to identify, prevent and address potential issues
Maintenance of a knowledge base containing detailed documentation of resolved cases
Analysis of system logs, error messages and user reports to identify the root causes of hardware, software and network issues
Automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity management, front office specific support and stakeholder management
Identification and remediation or raising, through appropriate process, of potential service impacting risks and issues
Proactively assess support activities implementing automations where appropriate to maintain stability and drive efficiency
Requirements:
Experience delivering run‑the‑bank support within financial services, consulting, or technology organisations, or in structured programme roles in other industries
Proficiency in DB2 and Cobol technologies within a banking environment with exposure to Risk-related business areas
Solid understanding of ITIL practices, including configuration and reporting activities, supported by practical experience with service tools such as Service First or SNOW
Nice to have:
SQL and Cobol proficiency, along with understanding of Banking or Risk domains
Experience in DB2, Cobol and IMS, as well as familiarity with APIs and z/OS Connect
Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain wide‑ranging technical issues to varied audiences
