Application Engineer 12 Month Contract – 37 hours per week Based: Christchurch Onsite Full time – Monday to Friday Hourly rate: £44.74 PAYE or £57.84 per hour Inside IR35 Overview BAE Systems is looking for a talented and motivated Application Engineer to join their engineering team in Christchurch, supporting a range of high-profile Ministry of Defence programmes. Working within an established 45-strong team, you’ll contribute to the delivery and support of a fully integrated Command & Control system used across multiple MoD sites.

Job Responsibility:

  • Designing, coding, and testing bespoke software applications
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues within live production environments
  • Following established software engineering best practices
  • Producing high-quality technical documentation
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Conducting peer reviews and sharing technical knowledge
  • Reporting progress and contributing to technical discussions
  • Supporting deployment and testing activities at customer sites when required

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in C# and Visual Studio
  • Experience with Windows Forms and .NET Framework
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of the full Software Development Lifecycle
  • Experience with configuration management and version control
  • Experience deploying software in virtual environments
  • Knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2019/2022 configuration
