We are currently seeking an Intermediate Application Engineer to join a premier solutions provider in Mississauga. This role is ideal for a technical expert with a background in Emerson DeltaV systems who enjoys blending engineering design with commercial strategy. As an Intermediate Application Engineer, you will be the technical pivot point between customer needs and complex automation solutions. You will provide engineering input for high-stakes quotes, design control architectures, and act as a subject-matter expert for process control systems.
Job Responsibility:
Translate RFQs into functional automation solutions, including control system architecture and scope definition for brownfield tie-ins and upgrades
Provide core input for accurate quoting, including P&ID review/markup, wiring and schematic design, and instrumentation specification
Work directly with an established DeltaV DCS customer base to promote new products and identify system growth opportunities
Prepare professional, complex proposals and multi-line quotes, ensuring pricing aligns with commercial guardrails and margin targets
Identify renewal opportunities for support agreements and position strategic upgrades (annual vs. multi-year) to existing clients
Act as a mentor and subject-matter resource for peers regarding Emerson tools and best practices
Requirements:
University degree in Engineering or a Technologist Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline
4+ years of experience in an Application Engineering role with significant customer-facing exposure
Deep proficiency with Emerson Business Unit tools and systems (DeltaV experience is highly preferred)
Previous experience designing and working directly with control panels is considered a strong asset
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to deliver technical seminars and internal training
A P.Eng. designation is an asset but is not mandatory
