Job Description:

Candidate will join the Corp Pension development team to support and maintain mission-critical applications related to pension plan administration. This role is primarily focused on maintaining legacy systems written in COBOL and CICS, with some exposure to Java front-end components and Advantage Gen (Cool Gen). The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating complex, undocumented codebases and learning the business logic embedded in decades-old applications.

Job Responsibility:

Support and maintain mission-critical applications related to pension plan administration
Maintain legacy systems written in COBOL and CICS
Support application development, implementation, enhancement, and testing of programming
Ensure system integrity by providing timely, accurate production call-list support
Implement regulatory changes (e.g., tax updates) and ensuring system stability

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in mainframe development
Strong proficiency in COBOL and CICS
Exposure to or willingness to learn Gen / CA Gen
Experience working with Mainframe DB2 and writing SQL queries
Ability to read and interpret legacy code with minimal documentation
Ability to work in a highly regulated environment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Computer Science or Management Information Systems degrees are preferred

Nice to have:

Understanding of the Pension / Actuarial business and terminology
Experience with Code Asset Management methodology and tools
