Job Description

Working at Uber means solving hard problems in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment. You’ll need to take ownership, stay adaptable, and build with both urgency and care. If you’re energized by challenge and motivated by real-world impact — this is where you’ll grow. This isn't a typical 'keep the lights on' admin role. We are looking for an Application Developer to treat our work management stack as a product. You will navigate the messy reality of shifting business requirements and turn them into durable technical solutions. You’ll be the architect behind our Atlassian ecosystem, moving fast to build intelligent, integrated workflows using everything from ScriptRunner to emerging AI capabilities like Rovo. If you thrive in ambiguity and want to own the tools that power how thousands of people move projects forward, this is where you’ll make your mark.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, build, and maintain the systems—Jira, Confluence, and Rovo—that directly support how our teams move, where performance and scale are critical
  • Solve messy, high-impact workflow problems in a fast-changing environment, often without a clear starting point or obvious solution
  • Build and maintain AI-powered applications and Atlassian Rovo Agents to automate the 'boring stuff' and augment productivity across the company
  • Develop deep integrations using REST and GraphQL APIs to ensure seamless data flow between the digital and real worlds of our operations
  • Own the toolchain end-to-end: from ScriptRunner automation to complex reporting in EazyBI, ensuring reliability when the stakes are high
  • Collaborate across disciplines—working with Business Analysts and product owners—to navigate tension and influence how work gets done at scale
  • Champion engineering best practices within the toolchain, ensuring our governance and permissions schemes are robust even as we move with urgency

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and administering Atlassian platforms (Jira and Confluence)
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining ScriptRunner scripts for automation
  • Experience working with Atlassian REST and GraphQL APIs and integrating third-party systems
  • Experience with Atlassian marketplace apps (e.g., Structure, JEMH, EazyBI)
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-powered developer tools (e.g., AI-assisted coding or debugging) as part of a daily engineering workflow

Nice to have

  • Experience developing AI-enabled solutions using Atlassian Rovo Agents or LLM integrations
  • Experience designing enterprise-scale reporting solutions that support data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure while supporting large, complex organizations with strict governance requirements
  • Strong systems thinking mindset with the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into clear, scalable technical designs
