Application Authentication Engineer

• Design, implement, and maintain authentication frameworks for enterprise applications using Central Directory Services
• Lead the integration of Active Directory, Lightweight Directory Services, ADFS, and Azure AD into existing and new applications to ensure secure access management
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to establish best practices for application authentication and MFA
• Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating security vulnerabilities related to application authentication
• Monitor and troubleshoot authentication issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure system availability and performance
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in application authentication and identity management
• Document processes, system configurations, and architectural designs to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain an up-to-date knowledge base
• Provide technical training and mentorship to junior team members to enhance their understanding of directory services and authentication processes
• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the authentication solutions meet business needs and compliance standards

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in application authentication or identity management
• Strong understanding of directory services technologies, specifically Active Directory, LDAP, ADFS, and Azure AD
• Proven experience with identity federation, Single Sign-On (SSO), and multi-factor authentication (MFA) implementations
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and architectures, particularly in relation to Azure services
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Self-driven and be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Desired experience working in a regulated banking/financial environment
