Working at Uber means solving hard problems in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment. As an Application Analyst on the Work Management team, you will enable how teams plan, track, and deliver work at scale across enterprise platforms like Jira, Confluence, and Asana. This isn't just about managing software; it’s about translating complex, often messy business needs into scalable solutions on the Atlassian Cloud. The pace is intense, and the systems are massive, supporting over 50,000 users. You’ll need to navigate ambiguity and influence stakeholders without direct authority to ensure our tools actually make work easier, not more complicated. If you are a systems thinker who stays calm under pressure, can bridge the gap between technical "how" and business "why," and is ready to own the outcomes of your designs—even when the requirements are shifting—this is where you’ll grow.
Job Responsibility:
Design and Build Solutions: Analyze and document complex workflows to ensure technical designs on the Atlassian platform are high-quality, practical, and actually solve the user’s problem
Navigate Ambiguity with AI: Lead AI-enabled initiatives, such as Atlassian Rovo, establishing clarity and success metrics for new tech in an environment where the playbook hasn't been written yet
Bridge the Technical Gap: Translate fluid business requirements into precise technical specifications for developers and admins, ensuring nothing is lost in translation
Scale Through Data: Use analytics to track platform performance and user adoption, identifying where the system is failing or where we can unblock teams through better automation
Own the Outcome: Test projects and workflows end-to-end to validate that they work in the real world, identifying gaps and implementing fixes before they disrupt thousands of users
Lead Through Influence: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to stakeholders across engineering and operations, championing best practices even when there is pushback
Unblock the Team: Proactively identify and resolve configuration issues, minimizing disruption in a high-uptime, high-pressure environment
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as an Application Analyst or Business Analyst within the Atlassian ecosystem, specifically driving the digitization of complex business processes
Hands-on experience with Atlassian Cloud, including working knowledge of Atlassian Rovo and Atlassian Automation to optimize enterprise workflows
Proficiency in system design and configuration across the Atlassian portfolio, with a track record of delivering solutions for large-scale environments
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives from inception to delivery, ensuring they remain on time and within scope despite shifting priorities
Demonstrated use of AI-assisted tools (e.g., GenAI, analytics assistants) in a production environment to accelerate planning, documentation, and stakeholder communication
Nice to have:
Experience supporting massive deployments of 50,000+ users, understanding the unique scaling and performance challenges involved
Technical depth in automation, including development experience with Groovy or ScriptRunner to implement custom business logic
Advanced Rovo expertise, specifically in creating and managing Rovo agents to drive organizational efficiency
Direct administration experience managing Jira projects and Confluence spaces in Atlassian Cloud or Data Center environments
