Job Description

Ballard Spahr LLP, which recently combined with Lane Powell PC, is seeking a highly qualified associate to join its Appellate Litigation practice in Seattle, Portland, or possibly another Ballard location (please inquire). The ideal candidate will have had, or currently be serving in, a federal or state appellate court clerkship and have at least 2 to 5 years of civil litigation experience. Exceptional legal research, writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong academic credentials are required. This position provides a unique opportunity for brief writing, preparing advocates for oral argument and giving oral argument, and assisting trial teams with strategy, significant motions, and issue preservation in courts across the country. Qualified candidates must be admitted to (or eligible to waive into) the Washington, Oregon, or respective State Bar of their office location.
