Job Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Color Designer to join a Women’s Apparel Color Design team on a contract basis. In this role, you will support seasonal color direction across a portfolio of existing product, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners to ensure cohesive, trend-right color stories from concept through manufacturing. This is a high-impact support position ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in color technology and apparel design.

Job Responsibility

  • Collaborate with Apparel Design, Graphics, Print, Product Management, Merchandising, and Development to build cohesive seasonal color direction
  • Create original color palettes, narrative, and seasonal color refresh on existing products under direction of design leadership
  • Review samples, troubleshoot color execution challenges, and drive accuracy from concept to manufacturing
  • Conduct in-depth research across sport, fashion, art, and culture to inform color decisions
  • Support cross-functional designers with color expertise outside your assigned load when needed
  • Participate in the communication and presentation of compelling seasonal color proposals to internal and external audiences

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in color design or apparel design
  • Expertise in color technology, materials, dyes, finishes, and color achievability
  • Strong ability to apply seasonal expressions to existing apparel silhouettes through trend-right use of color and materials
  • Ability to communicate design intent through both mood boards and CADs
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Keynote

Nice to have

  • Passion for trend and color research, with the ability to gather cultural and market insights and interpret consumer behavior
  • Clear and compelling communicator, both verbally and visually, in cross-functional settings
