We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Color Designer to join a Women’s Apparel Color Design team on a contract basis. In this role, you will support seasonal color direction across a portfolio of existing product, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners to ensure cohesive, trend-right color stories from concept through manufacturing. This is a high-impact support position ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in color technology and apparel design.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with Apparel Design, Graphics, Print, Product Management, Merchandising, and Development to build cohesive seasonal color direction
Create original color palettes, narrative, and seasonal color refresh on existing products under direction of design leadership
Review samples, troubleshoot color execution challenges, and drive accuracy from concept to manufacturing
Conduct in-depth research across sport, fashion, art, and culture to inform color decisions
Support cross-functional designers with color expertise outside your assigned load when needed
Participate in the communication and presentation of compelling seasonal color proposals to internal and external audiences
Requirements:
1–3 years of experience in color design or apparel design
Expertise in color technology, materials, dyes, finishes, and color achievability
Strong ability to apply seasonal expressions to existing apparel silhouettes through trend-right use of color and materials
Ability to communicate design intent through both mood boards and CADs
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Keynote
Nice to have:
Passion for trend and color research, with the ability to gather cultural and market insights and interpret consumer behavior
Clear and compelling communicator, both verbally and visually, in cross-functional settings
