App Review Specialists are the quality bar for the Shopify App Store ecosystem. They review apps submitted by developers worldwide, evaluating security, compliance, user experience, and listing accuracy against Shopify's published requirements. The role involves queue-based, high-volume review work with a focus on protecting merchants and helping developers ship faster.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review apps against Shopify's requirements (OAuth flows, GDPR webhook compliance, Billing API implementation, API permission scopes, security headers, accessibility, listing content)
  • Test in real environments (install apps on development stores, use browser DevTools, verify storefront performance with Lighthouse, confirm billing flows)
  • Write clear, specific, actionable feedback for developers
  • Identify patterns and escalate trends in common failures, suspicious submissions, and policy edge cases
  • Maintain consistency at volume and participate in calibration sessions
