Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented AP/AR Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Santa Clara, California. This role requires an individual with a strong background in accounting and finance to manage billing, invoicing, and accounts receivable functions effectively. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide accurate financial reporting while meeting deadlines.

Job Responsibility

  • Process and review billing, invoicing, and cash applications to ensure accurate entry into accounting systems
  • Investigate and resolve accounts receivable discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Analyze financial transactions and records to verify their accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in preparing monthly variance reports and provide detailed explanations for accounting variances
  • Create financial projections to assess the impact of changes on income and overall financial health
  • Reconcile billing and accounts receivable records, maintaining up-to-date documentation
  • Examine financial statements and verify compliance with accounting standards and principles
  • Support month-end accounting tasks, including posting to the general ledger and resolving discrepancies
  • Interpret contracts and legal documents to record complex business transactions accurately
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting department

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations
  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and the ability to calculate percentages, discounts, and commissions
  • Expertise in accounting and bookkeeping concepts, including general ledger management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other financial tools to support data analysis and reporting
