We are partnering with a renowned and highly established Japanese multinational leader in the precision electronics and glazed substrate industry. They are currently undergoing significant expansion in Malaysia, driving an urgent need for a top-tier Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Engineer to spearhead quality control within their advanced, high-speed manufacturing environment. This is a specialized role for an optical engineering specialist. We seek an individual ready to leverage cutting-edge machine learning and vision systems to uphold the brand's reputation for world-class quality and consistency. Your expertise will be critical in inspecting complex electronics glazed substrate sheets at high speed and high volume.
Job Responsibility:
Inspection System Architecture: Design, build, and operate high-speed camera systems, specialized lighting, and custom software that drive the AOI machines
Algorithm Development: Program and refine advanced vision algorithms to analyze captured images, compare them against the "golden standard" reference, and accurately flag surface-level issues and trace irregularities
Machine Learning Implementation: Train sophisticated machine learning models, including neural networks, to recognize and classify a diverse range of defects
System Integration & Throughput: Integrate validated AOI systems seamlessly into high-volume production lines to ensure automated, rapid, and accurate inspection, enhancing overall product quality and consistency
Troubleshooting & Reliability: Perform systematic system calibration and validation to ensure the AOI systems produce accurate and reliable results. Troubleshoot and resolve root causes of recurring defects within the inspection system
Requirements:
A Degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience within a high-tech manufacturing environment
Strong, hands-on experience in optical system design & simulation
Hands-on experience with multi-spectrum imaging systems
Solid understanding of vision-related systems mechanism
Nice to have:
Proven experience in Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) specifically within material production processes, semiconductor, or precision manufacturing
Existing experience with advanced vision technologies
