Job Responsibility

  • Shaping strategies to improve the welfare of companion animals in Switzerland and aligning national priorities with international strategic directions
  • Providing high-level expertise in areas such as animal welfare, pet care, industry trends, corporate practices, campaigning approaches, public engagement, and regulatory framework
  • Developing and executing plans and tactics for campaigns and projects with a special focus on companion animals in close collaboration with internal national and international project teams
  • Conducting research and analysis to shape strategic decision-making and identify opportunities
  • Co-creating campaign outputs with internal teams
  • Engaging and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders
  • Representing FOUR PAWS Switzerland in meetings, presentations, working groups, coalitions and media interviews
  • Contributing to organisation-wide discussions, knowledge sharing across teams, and providing mentoring and guidance to colleagues to maximise collective impact for animals

Requirements

  • Passion for animal welfare and FOUR PAWS vision and mission
  • Professional qualifications and/or several years of experience in a relevant field, e.g. biology, veterinary medicine, animal welfare, politics, or law
  • Experience in campaigning, ideally in the field of so-called companion animals
  • Knowledge of the current animal welfare situation in Switzerland
  • Understanding of the Swiss pet landscape, including animal care and welfare needs
  • An established professional network within the Swiss animal welfare sector is an advantage
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent German (spoken and written), very good English, French skills are an advantage
  • Motivated, adaptable and driven to make an impact
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
  • Skilled at turning complex issues into engaging and accessible narratives
  • Willingness to occasionally work at weekend events
