Job Responsibility:

  • Feeding and providing general care for pigs
  • Maintaining herd health and clean and safe environment for pigs
  • Pressure washing and preparing rooms for animal entry
  • Performing minor maintenance and sanitation tasks
  • Completing clerical duties such as maintaining door charts, inventory trackers, and ordering feed and medication
  • Following all health and safety policies and adhering to Canada Packers’ SOPs for humane animal treatment

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application
  • Commitment to wearing proper PPE and following safety protocols
  • Availability for weekend, holiday, and alarm shifts on a rotational basis
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to a rural location
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Alignment with Canada Packers’ Leadership Values and Code of Conduct

Experience in hog production is an asset
