Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Animal Care Technician to support our 14-19 Post-16 provision. This is a varied and rewarding role combining animal care, learner support, and lesson cover, ideal for someone passionate about education and animal welfare.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing daily care and welfare for a range of animals, including feeding, cleaning, handling, and health monitoring
  • Maintaining high standards of animal husbandry in line with welfare and safeguarding requirements
  • Supporting teaching staff during practical and classroom-based animal care sessions
  • Covering lessons when required, delivering pre-planned learning activities and ensuring a positive and safe learning environment
  • Preparing practical resources, equipment, and learning spaces
  • Supporting learners aged 14-19, encouraging engagement, independence, and safe working practices
  • Assisting with risk assessments, health and safety checks, and record-keeping
  • Helping maintain animal accommodation, equipment, and learning facilities
