Job Description

This Anesthesia Technician position supports the safe and efficient care of patients receiving anesthesia. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining anesthesia equipment, assisting anesthesia providers during procedures, and ensuring proper preparation of anesthesia machines, carts, and specialized equipment. This role will primarily support the Heart Center.

Job Responsibility

  • Clean, maintain, and stock the anesthesia workroom and equipment in all operating rooms and satellite anesthetizing locations
  • Assist anesthesia providers in the safe and efficient care of patients receiving anesthesia
  • Provide specialized equipment to support anesthesia staff when needed
  • Prepare anesthesia machines and carts for use the following day
  • Assemble and prepare intravenous (IV) solutions for anesthesia providers
  • Collaborate with the perioperative team to support prompt OR turnover
  • Assist with difficult airway management by providing necessary equipment (e.g., video laryngoscope, fiberoptic intubation cart)
  • Prepare age-appropriate anesthesia equipment, monitors, and airway support

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. is required
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical work experience in a hospital setting required
  • Prior anesthesia experience is strongly preferred
