Job Description

We are looking for an Android Developer to support mobile application initiatives for a highly collaborative team. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for someone who can work with a flexible schedule while staying closely aligned with teammates through consistent progress updates and regular availability during standard business hours when urgent issues arise. You will contribute to Android-focused development efforts in a small team setting and help maintain steady communication as work moves forward.

Job Responsibility

  • Build, enhance, and maintain Android mobile applications using Android Studio and Java
  • Partner with a small development group to deliver mobile features, resolve technical issues, and support ongoing application improvements
  • Provide frequent status updates on assigned work, including communicating early when timelines are moving ahead of plan or at risk of delay
  • Remain available for daily check-ins and as-needed collaboration to address blockers, production concerns, or development questions
  • Work effectively within a flexible schedule while ensuring overlap with normal business hours for troubleshooting and team coordination
  • Support cross-platform awareness by collaborating with team members involved in related mobile technologies, including iOS and Xamarin-based efforts
  • Contribute to code quality, testing, and issue resolution across the Android development lifecycle

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience developing Android applications in a detail-oriented environment
  • Proficiency with Android Studio and strong programming ability in Java
  • Working knowledge of the Android SDK and standard mobile development practices
  • Ability to operate independently while staying engaged with a small, collaborative team
  • Comfortable maintaining regular communication through daily touchpoints and project status updates
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule with some availability during standard working hours
  • Familiarity with cross-platform or adjacent mobile technologies such as iOS or Xamarin is helpful
