Job Description:

Android developer role at HSBC Global Service Center focused on designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications to enhance employee experience, working with cross-functional teams and integrating with cloud services.

Job Responsibility:

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications focused on enhancing employee experience
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, backend developers, and product managers to deliver seamless mobile experiences
Integrate with backend services hosted on GCP using RESTful APIs, Firebase, or GraphQL, third-party services
Implement intuitive user interfaces and ensure optimal performance across a range of Android devices
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration processes
Optimize application performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency
Ensure security and compliance standards are met in all mobile solutions
Stay updated with the latest Android development trends and best practices
Contribute to agile ceremonies and sprint planning as part of a collaborative development team
Implement AI-driven features such as personalized recommendations, voice assistants, and contextual navigation

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in Kotlin and/or Java for Android development
Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java for Android development
Experience integrating with cloud services, preferably GCP (Firebase, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub)
Experience with Android SDK, Jetpack components, and modern architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and mobile app integration with backend services
Familiarity with AI/ML integration in mobile apps (e.g., Core ML, NLP, recommendation engines)
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for Android (e.g., Fastlane, GitHub Actions)
Experience with mobile analytics and performance monitoring tools
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Nice to have:

Familiarity with AI/ML integration in mobile apps (e.g., Core ML, NLP, recommendation engines)
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for Android (e.g., Fastlane, GitHub Actions)
Experience with mobile analytics and performance monitoring tools
