Job Description

The Analytics Manager is a new role in our growing Europe Analytics Team, which sits within a wider European team based in Oakham, Rutland and Mettlach, Germany. This role is responsible for leading a team of analysts to power data driven decision making, drive efficiency and elevate customer understanding across the business. A balance of team management and individual contributions will be required to be successful in this role. You will manage a combination of insight service provision and data product building to drive efficiency across the business and power intelligent decision making.

Job Responsibility

  • Hands-on analysis of customer, sales and product data using a variety of technical tools (SQL, R, Python, Power BI etc.) to create timely, relevant and actionable insights
  • Continuously enhance our understanding of our customers through examining customer behaviour data, spotting emerging trends and market influences
  • Build sophisticated data products to enable quicker, smarter decision making and ensure we have ongoing solutions to business challenges
  • Identify opportunities for standardisation & automation of existing solutions and processes to enable Lands’ End to realise the maximum potential from our teams
  • Lead and shape a growing team, providing thought partnership and insight services to teams across the business
  • Challenge and improve Lands’ End’s analytical capability through development of tools or processes that offer opportunities to Lands’ End
  • Collaborate with IT to develop the quality and variety of data assets to improve decision-making and speed-to-market
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders to ensure sound knowledge of the relevant business areas

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a numerate subject e.g. Stats, Maths, Physics, Economics, etc
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, SQL, SAS, R, Python etc)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to tell compelling stories using data and analytics, to influence decision making at different levels of the business
  • Fluent English Language skills both spoken and written
  • Ability to manage stakeholders at various levels and balance conflicting priorities
  • Ability and drive to champion the adoption of a data-driven, fact-based culture across the EU business
  • Solid commercial acumen relevant to an online retail business

  • Knowledge and experience working with digital/web analytics data & tools (Adobe Analytics/Google Analytics)
  • Significant knowledge of both digital and direct marketing techniques (to include CRM response modeling and paid media optimisation)
  • Proficiency in developing experiments and measuring marketing campaigns
  • Experience using insights to improve customer journeys and increase site conversion
  • Experience analysing customer purchasing behaviour to inform stock planning and segmentation
