We are recruiting for an Analytics Data Platform & Tooling Chapter Lead to join our Data & Analytics Department in Admiral Money. The Analytics Data Platform & Tooling Chapter Lead is responsible for defining, growing, and leading the Analytics Data Platform & Tooling discipline within Admiral Money. You will oversee a discipline, including Engineers focused on building, maintaining, and evolving the data platform and consumption tools that power analytics, operational reporting, data science, and wider business decision‑making. Data is the lifeblood of Admiral Money. This role ensures that data is collected reliably, processed efficiently, governed effectively, and consistently delivered to downstream users in a simple, understandable, and high‑trust manner. As Chapter Lead, you will set engineering standards, coach engineers, shape platform architecture, and work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver a modern, scalable, cloud‑native data platform that supports the organisation’s growth and strategic objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Own the strategic roadmap for analytics platforms, tools, and self service enablement
Define and govern standards for analytics workspace design, data access, modelling approaches and tool usage
Champion a modern analytics ecosystem that drives productivity, quality and innovation
Oversee the design, evolution and reliability of analytics platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Sagemaker environments, governed SQL workspaces)
Lead decisions on adoption of new tooling and the retirement/rationalisation of legacy tools
Partner with Architecture to ensure alignment with enterprise technology frameworks
Create and maintain robust governance, quality controls, security processes and user onboarding pathways
Ensure metadata, lineage, definitions and documentation are complete and consistently maintained
Ensure that the appropriate optimisation strategy to manage and maintain costs of the platform
Work closely with Analytics, Data Engineering, Architecture, Security and Technology teams to maximise value from data
Translate analytical needs into clear platform and tooling requirements
Lead, mentor and develop a Chapter of analytics Platform Engineers and specialists
Build an open, collaborative culture that fosters continuous improvement
Requirements:
Strong experience delivering and owning analytics/data platforms in a cloud environment
Deep understanding of metadata, quality, governance and self‑service enablement
Experience leading technical teams or communities of practice
Excellent stakeholder management with ability to translate needs into platform capability
Nice to have:
Experience in financial services or other regulated environments
Experience with AWS analytical services (Glue, Athena, Redshift, Sagemaker)
Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, or other modern analytics engineering tooling
