Analytical Scientist

• Support the full spectrum of analytical activities, including setting up advanced equipment, analytical method technology evaluation, transfer and optimization as well as non-routine characterization of drug substances and intermediates
• Pro-actively generate and interpret analytical data of drug substances/ intermediates to drive high impact, data-driven recommendations for the development, optimization and transfer of vaccines manufacturing processes
• Support laboratory investigations and trouble-shooting related to analytical equipment, methods and out-of-trend results
• Review and improve analytical methods, procedures and standards in accordance with pharmacopoeia requirements and in-house analytical technical standards
• Qualification and lifecycle maintenance of cutting-edge analytical equipment to appropriate analytical standards
• Ensure thorough, complete and accurate documentation of all laboratory procedures and data
• Support environmental health, safety and sustainability activities for the laboratory

• At least a degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry/ Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
• Written and spoken fluency in English
• Hands-on experience or prior knowledge in one or more of the following analytical techniques will be an advantage: Chromatographic techniques (ultra-performance liquid chromatography, size-exclusion chromatography with multi-angle light scattering), analysis of biomolecular interactions by bio-layer interferometry, spectrophotometric techniques and colorimetric assays (e.g. Lowry assay, Resourcinol assay)
• Enjoy working in a laboratory environment and thrive in activities and tasks related to analytical method development, troubleshooting, optimization, problem solving and root cause analysis under time pressure
• Excellent inter-personal communication skills, data-driven decision-making skills, project management and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work in cross-functional and global teams
• Possess a continuous improvement mindset and is able to drive laboratory improvement initiatives

• Transport to and from site to MRT stations in centralised locations all across Singapore (only for manufacturing sites)
• A certificate will be given to successful trainees upon completion of the programme
