Job Responsibility

  • Provide high quality credit analysis and thought leadership on banks and non bank financial institutions in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia to support accurate ratings and investor confidence
  • Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of assigned banks and financial systems, acting as a subject matter expert for the region
  • Perform comprehensive fundamental credit analysis and present findings effectively at rating committees with a high degree of autonomy
  • Write high quality, insightful research on credit trends, individual issuers, and banking systems, contributing to Moody’s analytical leadership
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with senior management at rated financial institutions and engage effectively with investors
  • Respond to investor and issuer inquiries, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with published credit opinions
  • Enhance Moody’s franchise by participating in conferences, outreach activities, and other visibility initiatives across Middle East, Africa and Central Asia
  • Coach, review, and develop Ratings Associates, providing guidance on analysis quality and professional development

Requirements

  • Substantial credit/risk assessment experience gained from a financial institution, insurance company, asset management or public accounting firm, or proven equivalent
  • Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing with some public speaking experience
  • Extensive understanding of the wider credit markets and their regulatory environment
  • Highly organized and efficient, with ability to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Willingness to travel across the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia region
  • Ability to ensure ongoing self-development
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency
  • Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
  • Strong academic background, equivalent to a Master’s degree (MSc or MBA) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline

Nice to have

  • Other languages, and in particular Russian and French would be advantageous
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are highly beneficial
