Bombardier Defense is seeking a highly analytical and motivated Strategic Planning Analyst to support the business unit’s long term planning, product investment governance, and strategic decision-making. A key element of this role will be to support the internal budget process tied to our strategic product roadmap, including coordinating inputs and preparing quarterly budget updates for each product investment. In this position, you will conduct complex analyses, prepare executive-ready materials, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between market opportunities, capability roadmaps, and investment priorities. You will also contribute to strategic projects such as market assessments, business cases, and competitive analyses.
Job Responsibility:
Support data collection, financial modeling, and analytics required for the five-year strategic plan
Prepare executive presentations and documentation for strategic workshops and alignment sessions
Support the maintenance and tracking of dashboards and KPIs linked to strategic objectives
Support the coordination of the quarterly budget update process for Bombardier Defense product and capability investments
Ensure alignment between product investment budgets and the strategic product roadmap, working closely with Product Strategy, Engineering, Program Management, and Finance
Consolidate and validate cross-functional inputs to provide an accurate and up to date view of investment status, risks, and variances
Assist in developing materials summarizing budget outcomes, investment implications, and roadmap recommendations for leadership review
Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and opportunity assessments for key mission segments (Maritime Patrol, ISR, AEW, Head of State)
Contribute to the development of capability roadmaps and mission-area investment priorities
Support scenario planning, opportunity sizing, and portfolio assessments
Track progress of strategic initiatives and assist in identifying risks, gaps, and mitigation plans
Support research, benchmarking, and analysis for partnerships, industrial cooperation efforts, and new market opportunities
Contribute to the development of business cases and documentation supporting product strategy activities
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
5-10 years of experience in strategic analysis, financial modeling, business planning, or management consulting (aerospace/defense experience an asset)
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and strategic modeling tools
Experience synthesizing complex data into clear, actionable insights
Strong communication skills and ability to prepare materials for executive audiences
