The Analyst, Operations provides analytical expertise to improve business processes within an organization. Examines internal processes and proposes solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and performance. Utilizes analytical skills and process expertise to inform data-driven decisions.
Job Responsibility:
Acquiring information from visualizations and statistical analysis to identify patterns and trends within internal processes.
Advising process teams on less complex process mapping processes and explaining the sequence of decision points involved in each step.
Applying in-depth knowledge of data collection and analytics to develop a framework for real-time reporting.
Assisting in the development of data collection techniques such as interviews, surveys, focus groups, and data mining.
Collecting data on performance metrics to determine key areas that require process optimization.
Communicating internally with stakeholders to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and gathering feedback.
Conducting research on process modeling software, workflow automation systems, and data analysis tools to support internal improvement initiatives.
Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of internal processes to measure effectiveness.
Designing basic process automation documentation to guide the efforts of the process analyst team.
Requirements:
Meet educational requirements (see education section) and/or 0-2 of work experience
Able to work out of the Hartford, CT office
Proficiency in data visualization tools: Power BI, Tableau, Excel (advanced)
Ability to build real-time reporting frameworks using Power BI dashboards, SQL queries, or custom reporting systems
Data mining and wrangling skills using SQL, Python (pandas), or R
Bachelor's or equivalent experience required, 0-2 years experience, Anticipated completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree program by start date (June 2026)
Have a major in one of the following fields: business, management, computer science, healthcare management, finance/accounting, economics, public health, health sciences, leadership studies, marketing, human resources, communications, psychology, or sociology
Nice to have:
Lean Six Sigma principles (especially for identifying inefficiencies and optimization opportunities)
Basic automation experience: Using tools like Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, or Zapier
Experience with process mapping tools: such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, Bizagi, and ARIS
Advanced statistical analysis skills, including regression, correlation, and trend analysis
Knowledge of business process modeling standards, especially BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation)
Understanding of workflow automation systems and how they integrate with process improvement initiatives
Experience conducting qualitative data collection: Interviews, focus groups, and observational techniques
Experience using survey and feedback platforms (Qualtrics, Google Forms, or SurveyMonkey).
Comfort with collaboration and project tracking tools like Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
familiarity with Jira or Confluence is a plus.
Ability to create clear documentation (SOPs, process guides) using Word or similar tools
willingness to learn advanced documentation platforms.
