We are looking for an Analyst to support oversight of RBC BlueBay’s investment activities, using a risk-based approach, to ensure that the business is being undertaken in accordance with relevant investment management agreements (IMA), regulations, best execution, and internal policies and procedures. This role will focus on portfolio adherence and front office advisory.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Investment Policy Director with the design and implementation of RBC BlueBay’s investment control strategy and framework
Advise investment teams on regulatory and client guideline restrictions.
Assist with the daily monitoring of investment guidelines and ESG requirements.
Advise on the resolution of identified investment guideline breaches and trading issues
the role will ensure controls are reviewed and, where relevant, enhanced to mitigate the risk of recurrence.
Onboard new funds with specific focus on negotiation of clear investment guidelines and subsequent relevant monitoring capabilities.
Manage Charles River Investment Management System “CRIMS” and rules monitored outside “CRIMS”. Includes daily portfolio, pre and post trade alert management and coding of restrictions.
Understand regulatory investment restrictions including UCITS, Luxembourg SIF, US 1940 Act.
Assist with the monitoring and development of Best Execution in BTCA Including presenting in the quarterly Trade Management Oversight Committee.
Engage in completing annual audit requests, including collating, and ensuring accuracy of all evidence and controls. Complete periodic Accuracy and Completeness reviews across both Segregated and Pooled funds.
Develop the management of information and KRIs for Investment Policy Director to monitor emerging risks within BlueBay’s portfolio management and trading activities.
Prepare periodic management reports and contribute to the production of board reports showing key performance indicators relating to adherence with investment guidelines. Includes performing reports on monthly, quarterly, annual breach statistics and trends.
Assist in the development and maintenance of control procedures and policies.
Ensure RFP/DDQ questions are answered in a timely manner.
Requirements:
University degree or equivalent work experience
Relevant work experience, preferably in an Investment Management environment
Interpersonal skills, with a strong client centered approach
Strong oral and written communication skills
Good knowledge of regional and local financial markets, economic disciplines, and regulations.
In depth knowledge of investment industry products, asset classes and services.
Competent IT skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Familiarity with the modern portfolio theory and with portfolio optimisation techniques is a plus.
Ability to present confidently in front of senior management and key stakeholders
