Job Description:

Analyst - Capital Markets & Risk. Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Capital One's Corporate Treasury is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Analyst to join our Treasury Payments Execution (TPE) Team within Capital Markets. If you have strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact. As an Analyst, you'll play a critical role in safeguarding our payment processes by executing payment requests and managing standard settlement instructions (SSIs) across multiple payment systems and trading platforms. SSIs are vital to our operations, ensuring that funds are transferred efficiently and timely that ultimately enable critical corporate funding and other business activities. Your work in maintaining the accuracy of SSIs will be key to our success. This role offers more than just day-to-day responsibilities; you'll gain valuable insights into various Finance functions and build a strong foundation in payments. You'll have the chance to innovate by creating, setting up, and refining procedures and controls, making your mark on our future processes. Join us and be part of a team that collaborates across the Finance division to drive our payment processes forward. If you're passionate about making a difference and eager to grow your career, we encourage you to apply today!

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage risks of incorrect SSIs with periodic and regular reconfirmation of counterparty settlement instructions, which includes partnering with various business stakeholders both internally and externally to verify current instructions and clean up unnecessary instructions
  • Maintain accuracy of all payment settlement instructions in payment systems and trading platforms used in Finance
  • Review and approve any changes to current instructions or addition of new counterparties
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to validate the business need and accuracy of SSIs
  • Execute payment requests accurately and efficiently
  • Manage risks of incorrect payments by ensuring team processes are governed by enhanced controls that meet updated payment standards
  • Support the implementation and adherence to standardized procedures and controls for all SSIs across Finance
  • Coordinate with Finance Risk Management and other risk offices on best payment practices
  • Reduce operational exceptions and drive efficiencies via automation, elimination, and transfer of processes away from manual touchpoints
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in Financial Analysis, Financial Operations, Financial Reporting, or Risk Management

Nice to have:

  • 2+ years of experience working in Capital Markets
  • 2+ years of experience in Financial Analysis, Operations, Reporting, or Risk Management or a combination
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
What we offer:

  • health benefits
  • financial benefits
  • other benefits that support your total well-being
