Our focus is on serving our staff, shareholders, and customers/patients. Account Management is a crucial function, focusing on engaging with Population Health Decision Makers (PHDMs) to shape health policies and decisions that impact a broad population. The primary responsibilities include developing long-term business relationships, negotiating contracts, profiling accounts, and creating strategic plans to ensure product access. Additionally, Account Management involves identifying and removing barriers that hinder product access, requiring collaboration with local Infield Teams. Effective Account Management, combined with Sales, creates a synergistic effect on our mission to serve patients.

Job Responsibility:

  • Developing long-term business relationships, negotiating contracts, profiling accounts, and creating strategic plans to ensure product access
  • Identifying and removing barriers that hinder product access, requiring collaboration with local Infield Teams
  • Managing targeted customer accounts in the Hospital and Clinic classes of trade for the Amgen Oncology Business Unit portfolio (including Retina) with an emphasis on biosimilars and launch products
  • Identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with customer targets based on individual product strategies
  • Implementing product access strategies/tactics for all defined targets in collaboration with other internal teams
  • Identifying and developing opportunities with customer targets through data analysis and contract negotiations within the product strategies to meet and exceed OBU National goals
  • Ensuring contract compliance to increase pull-through sales and reporting market intelligence
  • Collaborating with various internal strategic partners such as: Market Access, Trade, Marketing Teams, National Accounts and Pricing/Contract teams
  • Executing the strategy to attain National goals within their individual assigned geography
  • Having a working knowledge of biosimilar, specialty pharmaceutical industry, contracting, distribution/wholesaler channels, pricing structures, chargeback programs, institutional sales, group purchasing organizations (GPOs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) Clinics, buy & bill, reimbursement, market access
  • Understanding formulary and P&T processes for assigned customers in clinics, IDN’s and specialty pharmacies to assist in gaining formulary access for targeted Amgen products
  • Entering all account/customer activity into Compass system (Veeva) on daily basis
  • Penetrating assigned customer targets to the highest levels to build relationships necessary to achieve desired objectives
  • Working cohesively with members of the National Account team, Marketing, and Management to achieve portfolio objectives
  • Representing and promoting Amgen’s products and reputation in a professional, productive manner while adhering to all Amgen compliance, expense, travel policies and guidelines
  • Recording account information and competitive intelligence through available resources and compliant processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 Years professional experience in Account Management, Sales or Marketing and 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience in buy & bill market preferably in biosimilar market
  • Experience working in a hospital or IDN market preferred
  • History of superior sales results and strong business acumen
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical reimbursement and 340B
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand strategy and strategic thinking
  • Experience in delivering and executing contracts
