As a part of the Ambulatory Float Pool, provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate appointments and assist patients and families as needed. Participate in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, from customer service, message distribution, procedure scheduling, encounter registration, and referrals management. Must be highly flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a team environment. Performs clerical tasks associated with patient registration, check-in/out procedures, scheduling, verifying patient appointments, and collecting patient co-pay or deductibles. Providing patients and families with a positive experience at CHLA. Supports the ambulatory clinics in multitude of duties including but not limited to processing referrals, answering and screening incoming calls, taking and relaying messages to ambulatory clinics as necessary.

Requirements:
2 years experience in customer service, preferably in a medical front office setting
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and telephone manner
Must be highly flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a team environment
High school diploma or GED required
Nice to have:
1 year experience in a medical office setting
Previous experience in float pool setting
Bilingual English/Spanish
Knowledge of major insurance plans and types of coverage provided, including government health
Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology
