Job Description

Signature Medical Group (SMG), part of Signature Healthcare system in Southeastern Massachusetts is actively seeking a highly skilled leader to join their team as their next Ambulatory Coding Manager. The Ambulatory Coding Manager will provide managerial oversight and technical support for the ambulatory department, ensuring accurate diagnosis and procedure coding. Reporting to the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle, this leader will oversee a team of two direct reports and 23 FTEs. This leader will participate in optimization and design sessions for current and new/upgraded products such as the RCx system. In addition will communicate and work with physicians and practice support staff to assure that documentation meets regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be an experienced coding leader with excellent communication skills and a hands-on leadership style. This individual must be able to mentor and educate staff while holding them accountable. Prior leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage people will be critical.

Job Responsibility

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least five years of experience working in an ambulatory care or hospital setting required
  • Minimum of three years of coding experience
  • CPC certification required or must be obtained within one year of hire
  • Membership in AAPC or AHIMA highly preferred

Nice to have

RCx and Meditech experience is a plus
