Job Description

This position is responsible for planning and allocating daily outbound freight movements to retail stores across QLD. Freight is loaded by the DC team, with the allocator ensuring all transport is scheduled, compliant, and executed to required service standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and execute daily load and route plans using internal transport management systems
  • Direct and monitor Independent Contractors to ensure schedules and compliance are met
  • Maintain accurate and timely data entry of live freight movements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any delays or delivery issues in real time
  • Monitor daily utilisation, cost estimates, and service completion metrics
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure seamless operations
  • Support driver compliance in line with fatigue and safety obligations
  • Be available after hours for unresolved routes when required

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in a similar allocator or transport coordination role
  • Strong knowledge of QLD geography and freight scheduling
  • AM Allocator experience
  • Background in 3PL, transport or logistics environments preferred
  • Competent with Excel and data entry across multiple systems
  • Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, and prioritise
  • Understanding of Chain of Responsibility and Fatigue Management (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills for contractor and stakeholder liaison
