Job Responsibility:

  • Provide Engineering support primarily in networking domain for on- and off-premises Managed Service Provider IaaS and PaaS environment
  • Support design and interconnectivity of new Data Centers in multi-site environment
  • Serve as Tier 3 escalation support for troubleshooting connectivity issues impacting hosted applications
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to transform high-level technical objectives into comprehensive technical requirements
  • Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a variety of network, storage, and compute technologies for on- and off-prem environments
  • Create and maintain system configuration documentation
  • Support review and improvement of Standard Operating Processes

Requirements:

  • Senior level Network Engineer experience
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DOD 8570 IA certification, plus relevant computing environment certification (i.e. CCNA, CCNP, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of fundamental networking concepts and technologies

Nice to have:

  • Strong operational knowledge and experience in routing and switching
  • Knowledge of Software Defined Networking concepts
  • Cisco ACI preferred
  • Experience with application delivery and load balancing concepts
  • Experience with “Next-Generation Firewall” concepts and operation
  • Understanding of Web Application Firewall concepts and operation
  • Knowledge of commercial cloud IaaS and PaaS operation
  • Azure preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to direct troubleshooting sessions, read an interpret multiple data sources (firewall logs, packet captures, application logs)
  • Perform and report on root-cause analysis
  • Knowledge of commercial cloud environment administration such as IdAM, subscription management, RBAC
  • Azure preferred
  • Knowledge of networking in a DoD and Army environment desired (DISA, Regional Cyber Centers, etc.)
  • Experience with DISA Boundary Cloud Access Point and approved commercial cloud environments desired (Azure Government preferred)
