Job Description

Alternative Provision Teachers – Supply roles in Stockport and surrounding areas, starting ASAP. These flexible opportunities are ideal for Alternative Provision Teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will work with pupils who require tailored learning approaches outside mainstream education, supporting their academic progress and personal development.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual learning needs
  • Create a safe, inclusive environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Work closely with support staff and external agencies to meet pupils’ holistic needs
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as required
  • Encourage resilience, independence, and social skills development
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching pupils in alternative provision or SEMH settings
  • Strong knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional challenges
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
