Job Description

Contacts assigned customer accounts or prospects to sell company products within a designated geography or industry. Focuses on meeting personal sales targets, new business development, maintaining customer relationships, and troubleshooting specific customer problems. Has a solid knowledge of products, their characteristics, and market.

Job Responsibility

  • Represent the Raymond James Private Market and Alternatives platform to financial advisors and clients
  • Drive departmental sales and increase overall penetration of the advisors in the firm that are employing products and strategies offered on the AI platform
  • Provide reactive and proactive phone support, as well as in person meetings with financial advisors and/or clients
  • Represent AI and facilitate educational sessions at firm or department conferences
  • Maintain the product knowledge required to appropriately educate advisors and clients on the various complex products and strategies available on the AI platform
  • Provide balanced education on the complex products and strategies on the AI platform in a manner designed to drive sales but also consistent with the conservative nature of the firm
  • Assists financial advisors in educating clients on the benefits and risks associated with the various complex products and strategies on the AI platform
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for financial advisors contacting AI for product and strategy related support
  • Work with External Consultants, Directors, and others to identify, schedule, and ultimately conduct face to face meetings with financial advisors to discuss opportunities available on the Alternative Investments platform
  • Deliver effective presentations to large audiences that may include financial advisors, clients and other professionals
  • Represent the AI platform at RJ and department conferences, recruiting “home office visits”, and client “by invitation only visits”
  • Meet specific objectives related to proactively contacting financial advisors
  • Initiate, develop, and lead sales and marketing campaigns that are aligned with the organizational vision and strategies for growth
  • Prepares presentations for inclusion on intranet website and/or in person delivery to financial advisors and branch management
  • Contribute to department wide initiatives that require team input
  • Organizes, manages, and executes on objectives with minimal oversight, a strong attention to detail, a high level of professionalism, and with appropriate timeliness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or a related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years' experience in the financial services industry
  • Existing (or an ability to quickly acquire) knowledge required to appropriately educate on the complex products and strategies offered on the Alternative Investments platform
  • SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied
  • Required: Series 7
  • Preferred: CAIA, CFP, CFA, or MBA
  • Advanced knowledge of complex products and strategies offered on the Alternative Investment platform including but not limited to Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Non-Traded REIT’s and BDC’s, Interval Funds, concentrated equity strategies
  • Knowledge of competitive landscape (i.e., Alternative Investment platforms of other wealth management firms)
  • Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations
  • Micro and Macro economics and their impact on investment strategies
  • Financial markets, products, financial advisory function, and investment process

  • Serve as subject matter expert on competitive services and approaches within their respective territory
  • Innovate tools and protocols for proposals, presentations, etc that enhance our sales and retention efforts
  • Create and provide insights on lead generation, measures, and accountability platform
  • Serve as the relationship leader for consultants engaged within their geographies
  • Drive opportunities within existing accounts to cross-sell facilities, POM, and other Aramark service
