The Meet ALICE Experience temporary employee will play a pivotal role in enhancing and localizing the Meet ALICE Experience, a dynamic and transformative community engagement tool. This position supports United Way of Northeast Florida’s mission to deepen awareness, empathy, and cross-sector advocacy for individuals and families who are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, and Employed (ALICE). This position will collaborate closely with United Way’s Volunteer & Community Engagement, Marketing, and Community Impact teams to ensure all deliverables align with grant objectives and reporting requirements while maintaining the integrity and impact of the Meet ALICE Experience.
Job Responsibility:
Research and integrate updated Jacksonville-area data on housing, wages, childcare, transportation, and healthcare costs
Localize all Meet ALICE Experience materials and resource guides to include United Way programs and community partners
Maintain organized documentation of data sources and updates for grant reporting
Support the planning and delivery of Meet ALICE Experiences for key Jacksonville audiences
Manage logistics including venue setup, volunteer coordination, check-in, and technology setup for interactive stations
Gather and compile participant evaluations, photos, and attendance data for reporting
Learn and use United Way’s volunteer management system (Galaxy Digital/Get Connected)
Post, edit, monitor, and remove projects on the platform as needed
Track registrations and ensure accurate data entry from sign-in sheets
Run reports, send confirmation messages, and support post-event impact reporting
Assist in developing and testing interactive technology components (e.g., QR codes, digital bill payments, virtual job searches)
Help design and test a prototype virtual Meet ALICE Experience
Collaborate with the Marketing and IT teams to ensure user-friendly digital integration
Use other platforms like Canva, WooClap, etc
Assist in creating and scheduling social media posts, newsletters, and event promotions in collaboration with the Marketing team
Support development of presentation materials and visual assets for stakeholder updates and final reporting
Track project milestones, participant data, and feedback for Wells Fargo reporting
Assist in compiling quarterly progress updates and the final grant report
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics (poverty, household budgeting, systems) in a clear, empathetic, and engaging way
Demonstrated ability to facilitate or support group experiences, trainings, workshops, simulations, or presentations
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and event logistics simultaneously
Comfort working with diverse audiences, including corporate volunteers, community members, faith partners, educators, and public officials
Strong organizational and research skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfortable using digital tools (Google Workspace, Teams, Canva, etc.)
Experience in event coordination, community engagement, or nonprofit program support preferred
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Passion for social impact and community development, particularly in issues affecting working families
Must have reliable transportation
Ability to pass a background check
Must pass pre-employment drug screening
Staff members who drive a vehicle on UWNEFL business must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
