ICEYE is seeking an AIT (Assembly, Integration & Testing) Engineer focused on the production of satellites at our Valencia location. This is a hands-on technical role, ideal for an engineer with strong expertise in systems engineering, electronics, and software, who is ready to help create production processes for a brand new satellite design while contributing directly to AIT activities.
Job Responsibility:
Execute hands-on satellite assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) activities for satellites
Act as a technical point of contact for subsystem integration, ensuring manufacturability, testability, and configuration consistency across builds
Support production readiness and design reviews (e.g., PRR, CDR), ensuring designs are mature and ready for seamless transition into production
Perform and guide system-level verification and validation, including functional, environmental, and EMC test campaigns
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, coordinating with design,QA and other stakeholders to ensure schedule and quality adherence
Provide hands-on support on the production floor, ensuring correct assembly, harness routing, alignment, and test setup execution
Contribute to, and improve AIT documentation, including test procedures, integration plans, checklists, and configuration records
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in integration methods, test efficiency, and build reliability
Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of integration or test anomalies
Interface with the Global AIT and Engineering teams to ensure alignment on product standards, process updates, and lessons learned
Mentor and support local engineers and technicians, sharing AIT best practices and fostering a culture of quality and accountability
Requirements:
5+ years of hands-on experience in the development, integration, testing, or production of satellite systems with a focus of ownership from design to deployment
Proven experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments from a system engineering position
Deep technical knowledge in at least one engineering discipline (mechanical, electronics, RF or software)
System-level understanding across of complex systems or knowledge of satellite system architectures
Familiarity with integration, verification, production ramp-up, and configuration management processes in complex hardware industries with a strong preference for space industry
A systems engineering mindset, able to spot issues across interfaces, anticipate integration risks, and connect the dots between design, production, and operations
Strong track record of enabling design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-testability (DFT) in high-reliability environments
Clear communication skills and confidence in interfacing with designers, production leads, and executive stakeholders
Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving, including root cause analysis and implementing feedback loops into design and processes
A continuous improvement mindset, driving toward higher levels of reliability, repeatability, and operational efficiency as production volumes increase
Strong communication skills in English (written & spoken)
