As an Airplay Worker, you will help plan, deliver and evaluate a wide range of exciting play and youth work activities for young people aged 5 to 18. Working as part of the RAF Benevolent Fund’s Airplay Youth Support Service, you’ll support children and families from the RAF community through fun sessions, positive experiences, and meaningful engagement. This role is perfect for someone creative, energetic, and dedicated to supporting young people.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating engaging play and youth work activities for ages 5–18 within the RAF Airplay programme
Encourage youth participation and voice, involving young people in shaping decisions and activities
Support young people’s development, including accreditation opportunities that recognise their achievements
Maintain positive communication and relationships with young people, families, colleagues, and partner organisations
Ensure safe, inclusive practice by following safeguarding, health & safety procedures, and supporting risk assessments
Contribute to reporting, meetings, supervision, and training, supporting continuous improvement and professional development
Requirements:
A Level 2 qualification (or above) in Youth Work or Play Work, or willingness to undertake training
Experience working with children or young people (desirable)
Understanding of the issues affecting young people
The ability to work well within a team
Strong engagement skills with children and young people
A firm commitment to safeguarding
