The Airframe Automation team is driving a fundamental shift in how we “Develop and Integrate the Physical Aircraft.” Our mission is to continuously propose and implement improvements through high-level Automation (KBE tools, specialized applications, and Knowledge Graphs). As part of this transformation journey, you will play a central role in evolving Airbus methodologies for aircraft definition and design. By reducing manual effort and lead times, we allow our engineering teams to pivot from task-heavy design to a more Architecture-Centric Excellence. Beyond simply automating tasks, we are looking to disrupt the status quo by framing the Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Airframe architecture for enhanced automation-aided design. This position ensures that our architecture parameters and automation capabilities are perfectly interdependent.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to the creation of means that drive automation-aided design capabilities within the Airframe
Support the ongoing deployment of new Automation technological bricks across the business
Ensure the right level of interdependence between automation development and airframe architecture parameters
Leverage skills across Structure & Stress and Electrical & Mechanical design, utilizing everything from existing KBE means to AI and Machine Learning
Master the rules governing parametric design and automation-aided design to ensure maximum benefit for the Airframe architecture
Requirements:
Degree in Aero or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Strong experience with Catia V5 (3D model creation/validation) and DMU navigation/Product Structure
Proficiency in KBE (Knowledge Based Engineering) and coding/scripting (Python, C++, VBA, CAA)
Experience handling PDM/VPM/DMU tools and linking them to CAD models within a contextual environment
Solid understanding of Airframe Engineering, including System Installation, Structure design, and Stress analysis
Knowledge of the Aircraft build process, configuration management, and Airbus-specific processes (especially DE.PA) is highly desirable
Ability to translate operational requirements into robust digital automation solutions and IT architectures
Business proficient English is mandatory
