The Aircraft Servicer services aircraft, performing any combination of the following tasks, directs incoming and outgoing aircraft near terminal or flight line parking area to assist pilot's maneuvering of the aircraft on ground, using hand or light signals or drives light truck with guiding sign, and secures aircraft in parking position with aircraft wheel chocks, installs landing gear and safing pins.
Job Responsibility:
Operates service vehicles to replenish water, waste system chemicals
Assists with refueling, defueling and towing aircraft
Operates ground support equipment such as electrical power carts, engine starting carts, air conditioning carts, nitrogen carts, oil and hydraulic carts for serving aircraft
Examines tires for specified air pressure and condition
Positions boarding platforms to unload or load aircraft passengers
De-ice aircraft wings and assemblies
Extract engine oil samples when required and provide to NDI for analysis
Coordinates via land mobile radio with air traffic control for follow me and towing of aircraft to designated parking spots
Retrieve Drag chutes and return to owning maintenance unit
Coordinates with base supply in ordering parts for aircraft
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airframe / Power plant license or DD 214 with documentation reflecting aircraft maintenance experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
