Job Description:

You will be part of the team responsible for the execution and confirmation of quality inspections as part of the production process with an emphasis on the aircraft structure and mechanical systems.

Job Responsibility:

  • Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft
  • Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance with design specifications, customers and certification requirements
  • Document the technical inspections performed in the multiple production orders SAP-based and the relevant SAL-based IT systems
  • Support troubleshooting, Functional Test Procedures(FTPs) and participate in Quality Survey requests
  • Compile all technical data of non-conformance in order to launch the NCMS-based quality discrepancy sheets
  • Document all the results of the technical inspector in the FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP based IT system
  • Attain skills to perform audits of Non-Conformance Rework Orders as part of the Material Review Board (MRB)
  • Perform audits/reviews of workbooks to validate PV approval and process adherence
  • Track and maintain components during the Non Conformance process
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in an aviation company or military aviation equivalent with an emphasis on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in the production line
  • Handling and use of inspection tools of the length measuring techniques (mechanical, optical, electrical)
  • Physical Requirements: Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens
  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings
  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas

  • Conduct weighing procedure in accordance with manufacturers recommended practices and procedures
  • Upon A/C arrival, obtain associated documentation, complete A/C records and document receipt

  • Perform inspections of aircraft, engines, parts and components using precision tools, equipment and other materials in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements
