This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Move and/or obtain correct parts, materials, and tools, as necessary within the employee's assigned area as directed by management
Use of all precision measuring instruments required to accomplish work assignments
Capable of accessing and navigating electronic systems as required by the position program, and/or company

Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure
Report job handicaps such as: errors in parts, procedures, tools, sequences, etc
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, planning documents, sketches, engineering orders, electronic work instructions, charts, and graphs to determine the methods and sequences of operations required to support processing and painting operations
Set up and operate chern-mill processing equipment to remove specified amounts of metal from sheet metal parts, and assemblies, extrusions and forgings utilizing etching solution, includes developmental
Set up and operate, adjust, and regulate various types and sizes of ovens and furnaces and quenching tanks to heat treat metal parts made from aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and other similar metals
Set up operate processing equipment to anodize and electro plate or clean metal parts and assemblies
Set up and operate various types of paint spraying equipment or dip, roll and brush interior, exterior prime, protective or finish coats on aircraft, automobiles, trucks, trailers, parts and assemblies
Thin and mix paints and other surfacing materials
Set up and operate robotic spray coating equipment by selecting and loading program tapes, masking material surfaces, mixing blend coating material and controlling spray flow rates, pressures, plume geometry and robot travel speed and pattern
Apply finish coats where, difficult access and special care must be taken to avoid runs and inconsistencies of coat thickness, a baked smooth or wrinkle finish is required, assemblies require hand brushwork
Operate robotic spray coating equipment to apply radar absorptive materials to surfaces
Perform rework and touch-up when tests disclose rework necessary
Record manufacturing data and statistics manually or with the aid of a computer or computer-based system
