Job Description

The Aircraft Mechanic I (AH-64/UH-60) performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.

Job Responsibility

  • Performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures
  • Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components
  • Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems
  • Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks
  • Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections
  • Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required
  • Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment
  • Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance
  • Removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft
  • Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance
  • Performs additional duties including maintenance duties, as requested
  • Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • U.S. military technical school or specialized training course desired
  • certification of education level required
  • Valid up-to-date A&P license (optional)
  • Three years aviation maintenance experience
  • Two years rotary wing aircraft experience
  • Two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS)
  • All experience within the six most recent years
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must provide own tools/toolbox
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
  • US Citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization

Nice to have
