The Aircraft Mechanic I (AH-64/UH-60) performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.
Job Responsibility:
Performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures
Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components
Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems
Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks
Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections
Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required
Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment
Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance
Removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft
Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance
Performs additional duties including maintenance duties, as requested
Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality)
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
U.S. military technical school or specialized training course desired
certification of education level required
Valid up-to-date A&P license (optional)
Three years aviation maintenance experience
Two years rotary wing aircraft experience
Two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS)
All experience within the six most recent years
Valid Driver’s License
Must provide own tools/toolbox
Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
US Citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization
