Job Responsibility

Inspects, evaluates and repairs survival equipment for assigned aircraft and support equipment
Use approved material to upholster, repair or replace aircraft furnishings, headliners, interior side panels, and bulkheads
Install carpeting, floor coverings and vinyl on SAM aircraft
Repair, manufacture, repack and sew fabric, canvas, leather, rubber and other synthetic material IAW tech data
Inspect, repair and repack emergency life rafts and life preservers
Modify, design and fabricate any canvas, leather, rubber or synthetic fabric items in support of aircraft maintenance including but not limited to interior furnishings and floor coverings
Operates all associated ground support equipment, hand tools, power tools, special cutting tools, fasteners and adhesives applicable to repair and maintenance assigned aircraft
Evaluates, designs, and manufactures logistics improvement projects
Research technical data for maintenance and repair of assigned aircraft and associated equipment
Uses maintenance drawings and blueprints to accomplish repairs on assigned equipment

High school diploma or equivalent--General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Must be Mission/Design/Series (MDS) qualified or have at least two years of experience in the classification for the applicable MDs
Must hold a valid, or have the physical ability to obtain, an FAA or Military Class II Medical Certificate, as prescribed by the Government
Able to perform a class II swim qualification
Complete the Aviation Physiology and Water Survival Qualification

Job Responsibility

Performs as flight crew as assigned or aboard aircraft in flight or on the ground during both day and night operations
Performs in-flight observation, troubleshooting, adjustments, and repair consistent with current procedures
Performs aircraft functional checks including, but not limited to, run-up and magnetic compass swings, when required
Uses tracking and balancing equipment, hoists, dollies, cranes, and special tools and test equipment necessary in the performance of functional assignment
Performs all Aircraft Mechanic duties when not performing Flight Mechanic duties
Operates aircraft towing equipment in towing operations
Performs housekeeping duties in immediate work area
Ensures that tools and equipment used by the employee in the classification are properly calibrated
When selected, attends schools and classes, which are designated by the Company for employees in the assigned classification
