The Aircraft Mechanic 3 - UH60 performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance functions including assembly and modification on the assigned aircraft (UH-60), their major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and related systems.
Job Responsibility
Perform the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance
Install, connect, and adjust complete systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission: install and align fuselage parts
balances, aligns, and installs tail rotor assemblies
rig complete flight control systems
Incorporate authorized modifications and changes
Make operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power sources and powered ground equipment
Inspect and troubleshoots to determine cause of malfunctions
disassembles to point of trouble
adjusts, repairs, realigns or replaces defective component or assembly
Direct the work of lower-graded mechanics for complete assembly, modification and checkout of the entire aircraft and coordinates with related trades such as electrical, avionics, and sheet metal to assure proper sequence of the complete aircraft assembly process
Perform other qualified duties as assigned
Requirements
High School Graduate or equivalent is required
U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired
UH60A/L experience is a requirement
Valid FAA A&P or FCC License preferred, and Two (2) years aviation maintenance experience, three (3) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and Two (2) years on the assigned UH-60 (MDS)
All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years is required
If No A&P or FCC License, must have the following experience: Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and Two (2) years on the assigned UH-60 MDS
All experience must be within the Six (6) most recent years
Must have a Valid US Passport, with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration
Ability to obtain/maintain Security Clearance (NAC-I T1) Public Trust
US Citizenship is required to obtain facility credentials and Public Trust Clearance
