Repairs and replaces aircraft structural components to include stingers, longerons, bulkheads, beams and aircraft skin according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.
Repairs, fabricates, modifies and installs structural parts, forming blocks, and shapes metal using stretching, shrinking, and other metal forming techniques.
Mixes and applies fiberglass materials.
Balances rotary-wing aircraft blades.
Makes emergency and permanent repairs to transparent plastic windows and enclosures.
Uses common measuring tools, precision measuring gages, and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs.
Performs checks
carry out inspections and removal of components.
Mixes and applies primers and paints to aircraft surfaces.
Applies corrosion control treatment to aircraft metals.
Comprehends technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
Requisitions bench stock for repair of aircraft structures.
Prepares request for turn ins and repair parts and structural components.
Uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools.
Performs final checks on assembly and installation of parts that were replaced.
Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
Assists aircraft technicians and mechanics on various tasks.
Removes and disassemble defective parts of the aircraft.
Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
Performs additional duties, including maintenance duties, as requested.
Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality).
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired
certification of education level is required.
Valid up-to-date A&P license (optional)
Shall have three years aviation maintenance experience, two years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS). All experience must be within the six most recent years.
Valid Driver’s License.
Must provide own tools/toolbox. Recruiters will provide toolbox requirements to candidates upon selection
Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.
